Process principle of pure steam generator

Share:

Pure steam generator is a device that uses purified water to produce pure steam. In the fields of pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, food processing, electronics industry, etc., it is widely used in various process flows, including sterilization, drying, cleaning and material production.

The process principles of pure steam generators mainly include water quality treatment, steam generation, heating and cooling control, and condensate recovery.

1. Water treatment

The water source used by the pure steam generator must be purified to the level of highly purified water (WFI). The water treatment process mainly improves the water quality through reverse osmosis and ion exchange.

Reverse osmosis is a process that uses high pressure to transfer water molecules from a low-concentration solution to a high-concentration solution. Through the reverse osmosis process, impurities such as minerals, ions, metals, and microorganisms in the water are filtered out to obtain high-purity water.

Ion exchange uses resin to specifically adsorb ions in water to further improve water quality. In an ion exchanger, cationic resins can remove anions from water, while anionic resins can remove cations.

During the water treatment process, care must be taken to avoid secondary contamination of the water. Therefore, water treatment equipment generally adopts a closed design and is equipped with pharmaceutical-grade filters and UV light sterilization systems to ensure the purity of the water.

2. Steam generation

The main function of a pure steam generator is to convert high-purity water into pure steam. The purity of the steam needs to reach the WFI level. The generation of steam requires the use of a high-pressure steam generator.

In the HPG room, high-temperature and high-pressure steam is generated by heating water. After the steam is generated in the HPG, it is connected to the subsequent process equipment through a series of pipes to transport the pure steam to the equipment for operation.

3. Heating and cooling control

The purity of the pure steam generator may decrease during movement and when in contact with equipment. Therefore, when using a pure steam generator, it is necessary to control and maintain the temperature and pressure in the pure steam generator to ensure the quality and purity of the pure steam.

Temperature control is mainly to gradually heat water to a certain temperature and turn it into steam. Cooling control is to add refrigerant when making steam to reduce the temperature and pressure and control the steam. This process will improve the quality of pure steam and increase the purity of steam.

4. Recover condensate

In the use of pure steam generators, it is also necessary to consider the treatment of wastewater and waste gas. In order to make the use of pure steam generators more economical and environmentally friendly, the condensate is usually recovered and reused.

The condensate treatment process includes collection, recycling and treatment. In the collection stage, steam is transported to various areas through some pipes and equipment, and condensate is precipitated and collected. Then, through recycling and treatment, the condensate is turned into water that can be used again for operation.
